Darby is a minor character during the second season of One Tree Hill, portrayed by Sprague Grayden. Prior to her introduction, she was mentioned by Anna Taggaro as her ex-girlfriend from boarding school. In her only appearance in the series, she traveled to Tree Hill in order to reconnect with Anna and share her experience of coming out to her family.
During her brief time in town, Darby encouraged Anna as she struggled with her desire to come out to her parents. As they walked around town, they ran into Anna's ex-boyfriend, Lucas Scott, who was welcoming toward Darby and supportive of Anna's decision to accept her sexual identity. Shortly after Darby returned to school, Anna came out to her parents and asked to return to her former boarding school, where she and Darby are presumed to have resumed their relationship.

Darby showed up at Anna and Felix's house and Anna opened the door. Darby was the girl who Anna had a relationship with on her last school. Darby told Anna about when she told her parents that she was queer. She wanted Anna to tell her parents that she was queer, too, but she didn't force her. When Darby came out to her parents she first thought that they would love her less. But she only came closer to them. She hugged Anna and gave her a kiss on the cheek and then left. When she was gone, Anna came out to her parents.
