This article is about Brooke's childhood home in the first two seasons. For her home after the fifth season, see 4915 Ocean Avenue.

The Davis residence (later the Baker residence) was the childhood home of Brooke Davis during the first and second seasons. During that time, the house was also home to her parents, Robert ("Ted") and Victoria Davis, though those characters did not appear until later seasons. Toward the end of Brooke's junior year of high school, her family filed for bankruptcy and eventually sold their home in order to move to California.

Located in an affluent neighborhood of Tree Hill, North Carolina, the Davis residence was noted for its distinctive front red door under a four-columned portico. Spacious and elegant, the two-story house featured manicured gardens and landscaping, a pool and adjoining pool house, and an entertainment space in its backyard.

Several years after her family moved away, Brooke revisited her childhood home shortly before her wedding to Julian Baker in season eight. While viewing the house from the street, she remembered the day a bride had thrown her veil in front of her house. In the series finale, her husband Julian purchased the property for Brooke to serve as a home for them and their twin sons, Davis and Jude Baker.

History[]

Early seasons[]

Upon its first appearance in season one, the Davis residence was introduced as the home of Brooke Davis. While referenced on numerous occasions, her parents, Robert ("Ted") and Victoria Davis, remained unseen characters until their departure in the second season and would not be introduced until later in the series. Despite the negative impact of her parents' marital problems, which brought several unhappy memories into the house, Brooke was shown to have a strong sentimental attachment to her childhood home.

After the failure of her father's company, the Davis family was forced to file for bankruptcy during her Brooke's junior year of high school. ("You Can't Always Get What You Want") In an attempt to liquidate their assets, Ted and Victoria Davis began selling many of their family's possessions. This included a significant portion of their home furniture, which they sold off in a yard sale hosted by their daughter, Brooke. ("We Might as Well Be Strangers") The Davis family's financial problems persisted throughout the second season, causing a significant rift in Ted and Victoria's marriage, which had already been established to be unstable. When Brooke's father received an offer for a job in California, her parents quickly sold their family home in preparation for the move. ("Somewhere a Clock Is Ticking")

Learning of the family's impending move, Brooke's former boyfriend, Lucas Scott, spoke with his mother, Karen Roe, about the possibility of allowing Brooke to move in with her. Speaking with Brooke's parents, Karen convinced them to allow Brooke to remain in Tree Hill for the remainder of the school semester. With Lucas living with his father at the time, Brooke moved into his former bedroom at his mother's house, which he had redecorated to resemble her own bedroom in her childhood home. ("Something I Can Never Have")

Joining her parents after the end of the school year, Brooke spent the summer living in California. At the beginning of the third season, she returned to Tree Hill for her senior year of high school. Moving into Nathan Scott's former apartment, Brooke became roommates with Haley James Scott, her close friend and Nathan's estranged wife. ("Like You Like an Arsonist") After Nathan and Haley's reconciliation, however, Brooke decided to vacate the apartment so that her friends could live together again. For the remainder of the season, she lived with her best friend, Peyton Sawyer. ("Who Will Survive, and What Will Be Left of Them")

After an argument over Peyton's feelings for Lucas, however, Brooke moved out of Peyton's house and moved in with Rachel Gatina at the beginning of season four. ("The Same Deep Water as You") Toward the end of her senior year, Brooke and Peyton repaired their relationship and moved back into her old apartment, which had been vacated by Nathan and Haley when they moved into his childhood home in order to help his mother with her recovery. ("It Gets the Worst at Night")

Later seasons[]

After high school, Brooke moved to New York City to expand her clothing line, Clothes Over Bros. After the four-year time jump at the beginning of the fifth season, however, she decided to move back to North Carolina and purchased a new house close to Tree Hill's beach. ("My Way Home Is Through You") For the remainder of the season, Brooke lived there with her best friend, Peyton Sawyer. When Peyton became engaged to Lucas at the beginning of season six, she moved in with him. ("Touch Me I'm Going to Scream, Part 1")

Brooke continued to reside at her beach house through the end of the ninth season. During that time, she became engaged to film producer Julian Baker. Shortly before her wedding in season eight, Brooke revisited her childhood home for the first time in several years. Recalling a fond memory from when she was a little girl, Brooke looked at her former home as she remembered the time a newlywed bride saw her and threw her wedding veil in front of Brooke's house. ("The Other Half Of Me")

In the series finale, the former Davis residence made its final appearance when Julian revealed that he had purchased Brooke her cherished childhood home. Feeling as though the house never had the chance to serve as a home for a happy and loving family, Brooke made one final wish to give it that opportunity by building a life there with her husband and their twin sons, Davis and Jude Baker. ("One Tree Hill")

Living room[]

Living room

Appearing only briefly in the series finale, the house's living room was located at the back of the house and was accessed from the foyer. With natural light coming in through its windows, the room featured hardwood floors and an archway framed with two columns and half walls with wainscotting on either side. The purpose of the room through the archway was unknown, though the kitchen appeared to possibly be located adjacent to the living room.

When Brooke and Julian purchased the house, the foyer and living room were painted in neutral, earthy tones of green, beige, and yellow, though it is unknown how the room looked during the Davis family's residence in the house.

Brooke's bedroom[]

Brooke's bedroom

Located on the house's ground floor,[1] Brooke's bedroom was accessed by a hallway and featured its own ensuite bathroom. The bedroom itself featured cream carpet and was decorated with green and pink wallpaper with a floral vine design. From its window, Brooke's room featured sightlines to the house's pool, as well as an exterior door that was framed with a vine-covered, white lattice archway that provided access to the backyard terrace.

During the Davis family's residence in the house, Brooke's bedroom was furnished with a bookcase, a dresser, a vanity, and a queen-sized bed that was framed by two end tables and placed directly in front of the window. Decorated with a variety of posters, as well as placards and a pennant flag from Tree Hill High School, the room also featured a small television. A dollhouse modeled after the family home sat on top of her dresser, while its mirror was decorated with photos of Brooke's friends, notably of Lucas and Peyton. After her family ran into financial problems, however, several of their home's furniture began to be sold off, including that which had previously been in Brooke's bedroom. This included her bed, which was replaced with a twin-size mattress for the remainder of her residence in the house.

During Brooke's campaign for student body president in the second season, it was in her bedroom that Lucas helped Brooke write her campaign speech. When Brooke moved in with Karen after her parents sold the house, Lucas moved what remained of her furniture into his former bedroom and decorated it to closely resemble Brooke's old room.

Years later, after Julian purchased the house for her, Brooke went to go see her former bedroom, though this appeared off-screen. Though unlikely, it is possible Brooke and Julian made this room their primary bedroom upon moving into the house, though it is more likely they moved into the unseen master suite.

Brooke's bathroom[]

To be expanded.

Attached to Brooke's bedroom was a private ensuite bathroom.

Unseen downstairs rooms[]

While they never appeared in the series, the Davis house featured a kitchen, dining room, and master suite, the latter of which served as the bedroom of Ted and Victoria Davis during their residence there. The house also featured an attached garage, as well as several other rooms which were never seen or referenced.

Second floor[]

Unseen upstairs rooms[]

On the house's second floor, it is likely the residence featured additional bedrooms, as well as at least one upstairs bathroom. Though it remains uncertain, it seems likely that Davis and Jude Baker eventually moved into one of these bedrooms after Brooke and Julian moved into the house.

Exterior[]

Front portico[]

Featuring a distinctive front red door that was framed by windows on either side, the front portico was supported by four white columns, with an inaccessible upstairs balcony located overhead. During the Davis family's residence in the house, two rocking chairs were placed on either side of the front door.

When she was little, Brooke would often sit on the portico steps to escape her parents' arguments. On one of those days, a newlywed bride saw her and threw her wedding veil out of the car for Brooke. As she grew older, Brooke continued to rest on the portico steps and would often write entries in her diary as she sat there.

Backyard[]

Terrace and pool[]

Situated in the backyard, the terrace featured a long, rectangular pool and hot tub. The back patio also provided access to a detached pool house, where Brooke's father would stay after arguments with his wife, Victoria. Surrounded by potted tropical plants, the terrace was furnished with black patio furniture and pool lounge chairs.

In the pool's only appearance during season two, Brooke met her new neighbor, Felix Taggaro, as he swam laps in her family's pool naked. While he initially pretended he was unable to speak English, this proved false when they ran into each other at school. During that second meeting, it was revealed that Felix and his sister, Anna, had moved into the house next door. When Brooke pointed out that the house next door had its own pool, Felix claimed the one behind the Davis residence was better.

Brooke's dollhouse[]

To be expanded.

In earlier seasons, Brooke owned a dollhouse that was designed to look like her family home, which she kept in her bedroom.

Trivia[]

  • While Brooke's bedroom appeared in the first season, the house's exterior was not shown until season two. However, what was meant to be the house's front door did appear in a scene from season one. In that episode, Lucas has a discussion with Brooke in her entryway, though this was a different house from the one used in later seasons.
    • It is unknown what this original house looked like, as it did not appear in an establishing shot for the episode. While only the front door and an interior hallway were shown, it noticeably had a smaller entryway and did not feature the distinctive front red door like the one featured from season two onwards.
  • In season two, Brooke's next-door neighbors were siblings Anna and Felix Taggaro. According to Peyton's address book, their address was 615 Lamplighter Way, Tree Hill, 01981. From this information, it could be deduced that Brooke's childhood address was either 613 or 617 Lamplighter Way, though this is unconfirmed as neither of these addresses ever appeared on the show. ("I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning")
    • Either of these addresses would conflict with scenes in which the house number, "2314", were clearly shown. This was also the case with the Taggaro residence, as their house number ("2316") could also clearly be seen in several episodes of season two.
  • When Brooke moved in with Karen in the latter half of the second season, Lucas redecorated his former bedroom to resemble the one Brooke had in her old house. He also repainted his bedroom's exterior door red so she could remain "the girl behind the red door."
  • In the ninth and final season, a recreation of the house was constructed on the Baker soundstage for the fictional Ravens television series created by Brooke's husband, Julian Baker.
