Gabe was the Duke student who attended a party which was attended by high school students Peyton Sawyer and Brooke Davis. Peyton was attracted to Gabe by his alternative music taste and they spent the vast majority of the party listening to albums together, with Gabe admitting he didn't expect Peyton to have the same tastes as him due to her appearance. He coerced Peyton into drinking at the party, which she didn't intend on doing, but drugged the drink he was getting her. Brooke managed to stop him and called Lucas who returned to the dorm and hit Gabe, telling him he better hope that Peyton is okay. ("The Search for Something More")
