Larry Sawyer was the adoptive father of Peyton Sawyer who raised her alone after the death of his wife Anna. He is often away because of his work but he and Peyton maintain a close relationship and talk frequently. He is very over-protective of his daughter and, to an extent, her best friend, Brooke Davis as well.

Later life

Larry continued working away to earn money for himself as well as aid his daughter when she left to pursue a career in L.A.

His career led to him very rarely returning to Tree Hill and living mainly on boats. This also led to him missing his daughter's wedding and the birth of his granddaughter

  - Although never officially separated, Anna died in a car crash

Trivia

Larry is the only character to be portrayed by two different actors during the series' run. Actor Thomas Ian Griffin portrayed Larry during 2004 for the show's first season and the role was recast as Kevin Kilner in 2005 when Larry returned during Season 3.
