One Tree Hill Wiki

Lindcas is the ship name of Lindsey Strauss and Lucas Scott.

After starting to edit Lucas' first novel, about one year after his break-up with Peyton the two began a relationship and would split their time between Tree Hill and New York, where she lived, and after some time she moved in with him. Lucas helped Lindsey through her father's death from cancer during their relationship. The first strains between them began when Peyton returned to Tree Hill and the two started to engage in numerous fights due to Peyton still being obviously in love with Lucas, who clearly still loved her too. Despite this, Lindsey convinced herself that she could really win Lucas' heart: the two went too far and ended up becoming engaged. However, on the wedding day, Lindsey couldn't go through with it because, after reading his second book, she realized that Lucas was still and would always be in love with Peyton, so she left him at the altar. Lucas then tried to reconcile their relationship, until he finally understood it was over and then took some time to clear his mind once and for all, realizing that Lindsey was right all along, prompting him to get back together with Peyton.

Relationship arc[]

Season 5[]

At the beginning of the season, Lucas and Lindsey have been dating for a while, meeting in the first place due to the publication of Lucas's first book, An Unkindness of Ravens: in fact, she works at the publishing firm and was the first who discovered his manuscript. The two have become romantically involved about one year after his break-up with Peyton, with Lindsey going from New York to Tree Hill frequently to visit him and then moving in there with him. Eventually, Peyton returns to town, putting strife in their relationship as she starts to be not nice to Lindsey and is still obviously in love with Lucas. He and Lindsey have a few arguments concerning Peyton because it’s pretty clear that also Lucas hasn’t moved on and still loves her, but eventually, when Lindsey is about to leave him, he proposes to Lindsey (mostly because of his fear to be rejected again by Peyton since her rejecting his marriage proposal was the reason they split up) and she happily accepts, believing that this could mean the end of their problems. However, their apparent happiness is short lived, because, after reading Lucas' second novel, The Comet, which he has written after Peyton's return and is clearly a metaphor about his everlasting love for her, during the wedding Lindsey realizes Lucas' will always be in love with Peyton, so she leaves him at the altar and returns to New York. Lucas tries to get her back, but Lindsey eventually tells him that she's in a new relationship. Lucas then stops pursuing her and takes some time to clear his mind once and for all, realizing that she was right all along and he never stopped loving Peyton.

Season 6[]

After Lucas has reunited with Peyton, he tells Lindsey during a meeting in New York for the launch of The Comet: Lindsey is initially annoyed, as it could be expected, but eventually the two part on good terms after she realizes that it was always meant to end this way because Lucas' heart always belonged to Peyton, as it's narrated in his two books.
