"Lists, Plans" is the tenth episode of the eighth season of One Tree Hill and the 162th produced of the series. It will broadcast on November 30, 2010. Brooke and Julian go skydiving, and Haley sets up a concert at Tric featuring Kid Cudi (appearing as himself). Meanwhile, Quinn sneaks out of town to visit a familiar face.

Synopsis[]

In order to get an agent's license, Nathan returns to college. He opts for a full business major, a tall order but with some "tutoring" from clever Jamie, he starts to feel more confident. Chase initially feels ignored and used when Mia and Alex volunteer as bar assistants for a concert, but ends up enjoying the fringe benefits. Julian decides Brooke should enjoy life again. He helps her achieve this by using a 'bucket list', she had previously made. While Katie Ryan secretly returns to complete her murderous plan, Dan talks Quinn out of a preventive but vindictive strike plan against her.

Plot[]

Brooke is day dreaming about her wedding with Julian. In the midst of her dream, it turns into a backyard, southern, hillbilly wedding. Haley shoots ducks down out of the sky, Julian chugs a beer during the reception, Jamie is drinking beer and walking around with a pet pig, a monster truck runs over their Twinkie wedding cake. Haley is testing Jamie on his spelling for the spelling bee while packing his and Nathan's lunch. Haley says how much she loved spelling bees and Jamie says that Nathan called her a nerd. Nathan and Jamie trade lunches and both head off to school. Clay is packing a suitcase talking to Quinn about leaving to check on his clients and asks her to go with him. Quinn says she needs to work on her photos and possibly see Taylor. Mia calls Haley while she is doing yoga and tells Haley she booked Kid Cudi at Tric and thinks Erin should open for him. Haley loves the idea but remembers people don't show up for opening acts and tries to figure out what to do. Nathan is walking around the college campus looking for his classes when he runs into a student and asks which professor he should take for a certain class. The student tells him to take the professor that lets the athletes sleep and pass them still instead of the tougher professor, August Kellerman. Nathan walks into Professor Kellerman's office hoping to get permission to take his class since he is starting later in the semester. The professor agrees and gives him two textbooks, telling Nathan the class has already gone through half of one in 2 weeks. Nathan tells the professor he is looking forward to the class. Quinn arrives at some diner to find Dan Scott grilling burgers and she asks for his help with murder. Dan starts chopping up tomatoes telling Quinn she looks familiar and she tells him she is Haley's sister. Dan asks why Quinn came to him and she says that he is the only person she knows to have committed murder. Quinn reveals that she wants to kill Katie Ryan as she tried to kill her and Clay in "Almost Everything I Wish I'd Said the Last Time I Saw You" and she is tired of living in fear.

Haley and Brooke are having lunch together when Haley asks how the bridesmaid dresses are coming along. Brooke tells her she has been struggling with finding inspiration to make and design the dresses. Haley takes her wedding planner away and tells Brooke to clear her head to find inspiration. Jamie asks Nathan to play a game with him but Nathan is doing some work for his classes. Jamie asks why they are so hard and Nathan tells him he was never good at school and that he has a difficult teacher that he picked. Nathan tells Jamie he picked the hard teacher because harder things are the most rewarding and compares it to an old basketball game he played in for Jamie to understand. Brooke and Julian are talking about Victoria and Sylvia going on a trip to New York together and how Brooke is struggling to find inspiration. Julian finds Brooke's bucket list that was complied and revealed by Millie in "Choosing My Own Way of Life". Quinn tells Dan about the shooting and recovery her and Clay went through and how she is having nightmares about Katie coming back. Dan tells Quinn she will loose a part of herself she won't ever get back which Quinn says she already lost it. Dan tells her to sleep on it and come back in the morning if she still wants to kill someone. Brooke is on the phone about decreasing the number of people allowed to their wedding. She starts her car when a French tutor talks through her stereo. Brooke finds the disk with a note from Julian, advising her to learn French, a goal on her bucket list. Nathan is looking for a seat in Professor Kellerman's class when students stop him to take a picture with Nathan and the professor sees this and starts class. Dan is going over a list of supplies Quinn will need in order to commit the murder and advice when burying a body. Quinn thinks it over and tells Dan she just wants it all to stop. At Tric, Chase is restocking the bar when Alex approaches him. Chase apologizes to Alex about the way he has been treating her and she ignores it. Alex starts moving things around and tells him that Haley wants her to celebrity bartend. She then goes back to his apology and accepts it. Mia is mad that Haley asked Alex to bartend instead of her. Haley then decides to pair both Mia and Alex to celebrity bartend. Brooke comes home looking for Julian finds a gift with a note from Julian in french asking her to put it on. Brooke and Julian celebrate October fest and watch the James Bound movies together, all things that are a part of her bucket list.

In Kellerman's class, he asks a question meant for the entire class to answer but singles out Nathan. Nathan doesn't know the answer and the professor goes on talking about the class as a form of a contract as he glares at Nathan. Nathan finds Kellerman after class and asks him why he couldn't have let Nathan catch up. Kellerman throws out an estimated average amount that the university pays for an athlete. Kellerman says he has always been required to pass athletes but that he doesn't have to pass Nathan to which Nathan tells him he chose his class and intends to hold up his end of the contract. Julian arrives home on a moped even though Brooke has always wanted to ride on a motorcycle. Julian asks Brooke to join him. Mia and Alex are talking about dividing sides when bartending that night and decide to create a competition. Chase comes over and says he isn't sure if it is a good idea for them to bartend after the football game in "Between Raising Hell and Amazing Grace". Alex asks if he is worried they will become friends and he says he is worried they will destroy the bar. Mia responds saying his drinks already did that and Alex tells him to stay away from making drinks and to be "their bitch" instead. Jamie asks Nathan to throw the ball around and he tells him maybe later when Jamie responds asking him what's wrong. Nathan tells him his teacher was mean to him and to stay away from anyone with Keller in their name. Jamie suggests pranking his professor and Nathan tells him he has to better prepare himself. Jamie helps him studying by suggesting he uses acronyms to help him remember a concept and Nathan refers to him as his "tutor son". Erin meets Haley at Tric who takes her to meet Kid Cudi. When she meets him Kid Cudi says how Erin will be a tough act to follow, implying that Erin is opening for him. Haley tells her after they meet to not be nervous and Erin says she is not nervous and is going to kill it. Dan asks Quinn how she is going to kill Katie and she pulls out a small hand gun that Dan says is cute but she will need an untraceable gun. He also tells Quinn she needs to get up close in order to kill Katie and suggests she aims for the heart. Quinn says that she knows Dan is trying to scare her and he tells her he is trying to prepare her. Julian and Brooke are riding in a helicopter getting ready to sky dive. Brooke immediately changes her mind once they open the door. Julian convinces her to go for it and they both jump out together.

At Tric, Haley introduces Erin as the opening act. Alex and Mia are competing as the celebrity bartenders and are both teasing Chase. Nathan and Jamie are playing football while Nathan is quizzing Jamie on spelling and Nathan is also going over material for his class at the same time. Brooke and Julian are talking about her goal of going to outer space but that it is too expensive so they are at the beach with the moon shining big and bright. Brooke tells Julian that finding a good man who loves her was never on the list because she didn't think it was possible. Alex says that her and Mia bartending together is a lot more fun than fighting. Mia agrees and says that they should call a truce on Chase. Chase tries to give people drinks but they all insist to wait in line and get a drink from either Mia Catalano or Alex Dupre. One asks they would like a drink from Haley James Scott as Erin wraps up her opening act. At the diner, Dan tells Quinn she will need a reliable alibi and to prepare herself to run everyday of her life if someone finds out. Clay calls and Dan takes the phone while Quinn begs him not to answer it. Dan answers it but gives it to Quinn and she uses Taylor in place of Dan during their conversation and asks to call him later. Dan says to Quinn after the phone call that the reason why she couldn't tell Clay is because she knows it's wrong. Dan asks Quinn to look at his life as he is in isolation from everyone in his life. He says he ended both his life and Keith's in "With Tired Eyes, Tired Minds, Tired Souls, We Slept."

Kid Cudi begins his performance at Tric. Chase leaves to get more things for Alex and Mia. Alex then throws away a half empty bottle of tequila and says they need more, following Chase. Erin thanks Mia for setting her up to open for Kid Cudi. In the supply room, Chase is grabbing some things when Alex walks in. Chase asks if she is okay and she tells him she is grabbing more tequila. Alex tells Chase that her and Mia were just kidding around with him which Chase acknowledges. Alex says good, reaches behind him for the tequila, brushes up against his cheek and tells him it's not how she really feels about him. Then she kisses him and tells him not to tell Mia. Jamie and Nathan are eating ice cream and Jamie tells Nathan he thinks Troy and Atlanta will make it to the super bowl. Jamie continues to quiz Nathan on his material for his class. Haley thanks both Mia and Alex for bringing people to Tric for Erin and asks who won. Mia says she did when Chase shows up and Alex says she is proud of what she did tonight and makes eye contact with Chase. Quinn is driving home from in tears after talking with Dan. Julian and Brooke talk about how good their day was as they eat a late dinner. Brooke apologizes to Julian for being so upset recently as she hasn't been dealing with loosing her money very well. She tells him she knows her dreams can still come true as long as she is with him. Julian says he intends to make all of Brooke's wishes come true even giving her a baby because he can't wait to start one with her. Jamie and Nathan are passed out on the couch when Haley gets home. She sits down next to Nathan and wakes him up. Nathan asks her how the concert went and Haley says it was great and asks how his class went. Nathan responds with the acronym Jamie helped him learn for the material in his class and tells Haley that Jamie is a good tutor. At Brooke and Julian's, Brooke finishes the sketch of her wedding dress, finally finding inspiration. Erin is finishing up another song as Kid Cudi watches. Kid Cudi tells Erin that her work is great and that she should believe in it. Quinn throws her gun into the ocean as Katie is driving back into Tree Hill.
