Julian says that his mom makes people crazy, not on purpose, but still does so. He tells Brooke that he hasn't seen his mom that inspired in a long time and that his dad wasn't around that much so they leaned and relied on each other. Mia tells her that Haley and herself both understand that but that if she choose not to record for Red Bedroom, she should know that she has good songs. Clay is talking to Will about how much rehab sucks and how useless his right arm is. He tells him how frustrated he gets but then thinks about if things were the other way around, he would be mad that he was bitter about it. Nathan arrives home and Clay picks him up. Mouth gets a call from Jerry and finds out it didn't work out and tells Chase this who apologizes. Mouth tells Julian in his interview that he wishes he was doing better but he isn't alone because a lot of other people are struggling with that. Mouth says he has to tell himself to keep trying and hope for something better. Chase is being interviewed and talks about how Alex is smart, talented, and beautiful and how Mia is also the same way. He then says that if he had to choose, he would pick... and then Julian's battery dies. Jamie sees Madison at school and she asks about his braces. "Just because your son is in love with me, is no reason for you to take it out on my liquor cabinet."

"I feel like people get lost when they think of happiness as a destination. We're always thinking that someday we'll be happy, when we get that car, or that job, or that person in our lives that will fix everything. But happiness is a mood and it's a condition, not a destination. It's like being tired or hungry. It's not permanent. It comes and goes, and that's okay. And I feel like if people thought of it that way, they'd find happiness a lot more often."

Julian Baker

"The truth is, you ask any kid what their favorite time of the year was, they were going to say either Christmas or Summer. For me, it was always the fall because that meant football was back. This is the first time since I was seven years old that the leaves changed color, teams took the field, and I didn't. I want to play football. That was my dream when I was seven years old and it still is. I miss it."

Troy Jameson

"I love your son and I know that the two of you have always been very close so I know that the great qualities that I see in him and the things that I love about him came from you. You have done an incredible job."
"Yeah, well, I will always be proud of Julian."
"Just like I am sure your mother is proud of you."
"I don't know about that one."
"How could she not be? You are a smart, strong, success, beautiful woman."
