Sire Records is a record label headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Owned by John Knight, Sire was the label Peyton Sawyer worked at as an apprentice in the four years after high school between seasons four and five.
After Peyton's return to Tree Hill, North Carolina, she opened her own record label, Red Bedroom Records, with the help of her best friend, Brooke Davis, and her former boss, John Knight. Under this arrangement, Sire Records became the parent company of Red Bedroom. Upon Peyton's departure from the label in season seven, however, Sire sought to shut down its subsidiary company and sent Miranda Stone to oversee management responsibilities until a plan was reached to dismantle the label and integrate Red Bedroom's artists under Sire's roster. Before this could be accomplished, Mia Catalano and Haley James Scott threatened to end their contracts with Sire Records if it went through with its plans to close Red Bedroom Records, thus allowing the Tree Hill-based music label to continue operations.
