Emma Violet James (nee Valentine) is a resident of Tree Hill, North Carolina. She makes her first appearance during Season 1, just having transferred from Citadel to Tree Hill High, as part of a program set up by the latter. She is the first girlfriend and eventual wife of Jacob James and the sister-in-law of Haley James Scott, Quinn James and Taylor James.

Background

Early life

Emma was born on May 31, 1989 to Albert and Annette Valentine as their only child. She and her family moved to Tree Hill, after she was constantly being bullied. Her mother and father, enrolled her into the Citadel, a school that had a zero tolerance policy against bullying. After her twelvfth birthday, she began a relationship with, Jacob James, whom she met through her youth class at church.
