Alex and Chase are spending the afternoon golfing together. Chase is surprised and intrigued by Alex's wardrobe choice and states he could get used to dating the hot actress. Alex corrects him stating she is the smoking hot bartender.

Julian tells Brooke he is testing out a new camera and reveals that he is on the hot directors to watch list. Julian and Brooke discuss her visit with her mom in jail and tells Julian that Victoria is enjoying herself while she has to clean up the mess with the men's line, reorganize the magazine staff, close half the stores, and put up with the press. At the hospital, Clay is waking up to Quinn by his bedside. He is surprised to still see her there, joking about her not having her own room. Quinn responds with liking the company from Clay better and asks him how he feels. He states not very good but asks her how he looks and Quinn laughs. She says that he looks perfect and reveals how scared she was about the possibility of not seeing Clay again. Clay tells Quinn how sorry he was about the shooting and that he should have seen it coming and that he should have protected her. Quinn tells him that it was not his fault and all that matters is that they are okay and together.

Back to Alex and Chase's date, Chase asks her if she has ever played truth or dare golf. He explains the game and tells her that whoever looses the hole has to chose a truth or a dare. Alex tells him to make it a dare and Chase responds with the loser having to play the next hole in their underwear. Alex teases Chase telling him she isn't wearing any underwear as other golfers nearby check her out. Chase laughs at this as he is proud to call Alex his girlfriend as she swings and misses the golf ball. At the hospital, Haley is helping Quinn pack up to be discharged and tells Quinn about the calls she has been receiving at the crisis intervention. Haley has been struggling with the hotline and tells Quinn she doesn't feel like she is helping anyone. Quinn gives her hope that someone will call her and will actually need help and that person will be lucky that Haley answered the call. Haley then tells Quinn she thinks it would be best for her to move in with her, Nathan, and Jamie until Clay gets better. Quinn agrees and thanks Haley as a nurse comes in to wheel Quinn out. Haley hugs Quinn and tells her how scared she was that Quinn wasn't going to make it out alive after loosing their mom and they both say how much they love each other. Chase wins another hole against Alex and asks for a secret from her. Alex reveals that she has never been in love or had that one special person even with all of the boyfriends. Chase states that he can't imagine that the guys she dated were not in love with Alex. She questions this and Chase states he truly believes it. Alex is surprised and tells Chase he is sweeter than she thought he would be and he responds with an upcoming dare.

Julian is covering Brooke's eyes as he leads her to a wedding venue. Brooke asks Julian what fairytale he brought her to. Julian suggests it as a spot for their wedding so that Brooke can have her dream. Brooke states how beautiful it is and asks if it is okay and if it is selfish considering everything going on in their lives. Julian denies it saying that in the future, they aren't going to remember her company's problems, the bad press, or the fact that her mom is in jail. He says they will instead remember how great their wedding was and how he wants to remember it as a perfect day and how much Brooke deserves it. Nathan is visiting Clay in the hospital and Clay tells Nathan how Quinn told him what Nathan was debating about his kidney. Clay tells Nathan how even considering donating his kidney that would ruin his basketball career would be one of the worst moves he would have ever made. Nathan says he just didn't want Clay to die. Clay tells him that alone would have killed him if he decided to make that decision. Nathan states that there are more important things than basketball and that it wouldn't have been a big deal anyway. Clay corrects him stating it was a big deal and thanks him. At the golf course, Alex states how bad she is at golf as Chase disagrees. Alex says he is just saying that to sleep with her and Chase denies it as she hits the golf ball into the water again. Someone walks into Brooke's store and Brooke thinks it is the press trying to get information from her. This person denies being the press and reveals himself as an investor, who believed in her company. Brooke tells the investor they struggled but that the company is going to be okay as they are restructuring and recovering. The investor hands Brooke a picture of his daughter and describes her as a great student who was just accepted into college, that was going to study fashion design like Brooke. The investor states he never got to go to college but saved up money to make sure his daughter could go. The investor says he wanted to meet Brooke so that she would know Brooke is the reason he can't send his daughter to college anymore. Brooke questions this and the investor responds with how much money he invested and lost with her and the company. The investor tells Brooke that she lied and that she should be ashamed of herself. Brooke tries to stop him as he leaves and then ends with the acknowledgement of the company going to be okay but that his daughter won't be.

Brooke reveals this event with the investor to Victoria. She responds by questioning why someone would invest everything they had in a clothing line. Brooke responds with someone who trusted them. Victoria says that they gambled with the company and that it didn't work out so they had to take the hit. Brooke states that she wants to pay them back and Victoria denies it as this would make her loose the company entirely and they would have to sell. Brooke suggests that they should sell the company. Victoria denies this as well, stating they would be throwing away everything they built just to pay back investors. Brooke says that they didn't just invest in the company but in herself and that they deserve their money back. As Brooke walks away, Victoria tells her not to do so and that it would be the biggest mistake of her life. Quinn visits Clay before she leaves the hospital, asking her if she is ready to go. Quinn states how wrong it feels leaving without him and Clay reassures her that he will be coming home soon. Quinn tells Clay she will call him every night and visit everyday. Clay says that they made it, he loves her, and they will be together soon. Haley wheels Quinn to the car, eager to get her home. Alex and Chase are still competing against each other in golf and Alex complains about him being a show off. She asks Chase where he learned how to play so well and he tells her the golf team in high school. Alex laughs at this and wishes she could have seen him in high school. Chase tells Alex he was different then Alex proceeds to guess how he was in high school. Chase is surprised hearing that Alex got most of her guesses about himself in high school right but reveals his part in Clean Teen. Chase explains this to Alex who is shocked to hear that he was a virgin in high school and asks why he chose that for himself. Chase responds with wanting his first time to mean something. Alex asks how his first time went and Chase tells her he let the clean teens down. Before she beings her next swing, Alex tells Chase she thinks she is right about girls crushing on him and reveals how hard she is crushing on Chase in the moment.

Haley is washing Quinn's hair at home as Quinn points out how quiet it is, asking where Jamie is. Haley tells her she is with Chuck as she wanted the house to be peaceful upon Quinn's return. Quinn appreciates this but tells her not to make changes and takes over drying her hair off from Haley. Haley reminds Quinn that the doctor wants her to take things easy. Haley calls Nathan to ask him to get the rest of Quinn's things at Clay and Quinn's beach house. Nathan tells Haley he will stop by once he is done visiting with Clay. Clay tells Nathan how amazing of a wife Nathan has and how much she has under control. Clay then encourages Nathan to go to camp as Quinn is now home and Clay will leave soon too. Clay tells Nathan how the game is not going to wait for him and stresses how important it is for him to get to camp. Julian shows up to Nathan and Haley's with flowers for Quinn. Julian asks how Quinn is and where Jamie is at, hoping to hang out with Jamie for the day. Haley tells Julian that Jamie is on a playdate but that Jamie loves hanging out with Julian and Brooke. Julian tells Haley that if she needs anything to call them and reveals he picked out the flower arrangement before leaving and how he settled on them and how complete certain flowers look in it. Chase tells Alex after another win that she owes him 4 dinners, 3 breakfast in bed, a bunch of lap dances, and a car wash. At the last hole, Alex suggests that the winner has to make the loser do whatever they want. Chase makes a hit right onto the green while Alex hits a tree, then a golf cart, and then the ball makes it onto the green and they celebrate. Nathan is at Clay and Quinn's beach house and is confronted by police and investigation signs on their front door. He goes to the master bedroom where Quinn and Clay were shot and there are blood stains left as Nathan remembers what happened to them in "Almost Everything I Wish I'd Said the Last Time I Saw You". Chase makes a shot and misses while Alex shoots and makes the shot, winning the hole and the dare. Chase asks her what she wants from him and Alex asks him for a kiss on the cheek.

Julian joins Nathan at Tric who just left Clay and Quinn's, and they are both reflecting on how rough everything has been. Nathan tells Julian how walking into a scene like that makes all your problems matter less. Julian pays for their next round of beers as Nathan thanks Julian for spending time with Jamie. Julian mentions how great Jamie is and how they have been playing baseball. Julian says how much Jamie loves baseball but is following his dad's footsteps in playing basketball. Nathan reveals to Julian that he won't be playing anymore giving that his back is done and that he needs to tell Haley. Julian asks when he made the decision and Nathan says he just made it. Nathan asks Julian to give Brooke his best and to not be afraid of what comes next. Haley bring soup in bed for Quinn and Quinn calls Haley an angel. Julian comes home to Brooke going over documents and tells her that Quinn loved the flowers. Julian asks Brooke what is wrong and she tells him she is losing the company. Julian questions this thinking that Victoria fixed everything. Brooke responds saying Victoria did so by screwing over their investors. Julian suggests that their must be a way out but Brooke has gone over everything already and hasn't found one. Brooke states that she can't go on running a company that deceived people. Julian tells Brooke that all she owns is her integrity and comforts her. Nathan comes into the kitchen with Quinn's stuff and asks Haley how she is. Haley tells her she is okay and thanks Nathan for staying home with everything going on. She asks when Nathan is leaving for camp and Nathan tells her he isn't going. Nathan tells Haley his back is a huge risk and that retirement would be a huge life-changing event for them. Haley is shocked to hear this and Nathan says that he made it to the NBA and that he thinks he should walk away while he still can. Nathan states he wants to be healthy and spend it that way with his family for the rest of his life, both deciding that Nathan will leave the NBA. Nathan brings Quinn her stuff from the beach house and checks in on her. Quinn asks Nathan how the beach house is and he tells her it's fine and that when Quinn is ready, it will be good for her to get back home with Clay. Chase is dropping off Alex at her hotel room talking about how much fun they had on their date. Alex says how she would invite him into her room but she really likes Chase and decides not to. Chase kisses her goodbye and as he walks away, Alex mentions how she knew she was right about him and brings him in.

At the crisis intervention center, Haley is answering more phone calls that aren't ones she is looking for. She is about to go home when she gets a phone call and decides to pick it up. The lady on the line says she has been having a hard time and just needs someone to talk to. Haley asks her what is going on and the lady explains that it is everything and it is also nothing. She goes on about the bad things in life that happen to good people and nearly hangs up thinking she shouldn't be calling. Haley stops her and tells her that it is exactly where she should be calling. Brooke is looking over documents with her lawyer and her lawyer tells her that she would only be able to pay back 70% of what her investors invested in the company. Brooke asks for it to be 100% and her lawyer responds telling her it is not possible. She suggests that she wants to give up everything she owns in order to give back her investors 100%. Quinn visits Clay and they lie together in the hospital bed and drift to sleep. Julian is working on footage he captured during the day and rewatches the clip of Nathan leaving the basketball behind at the rivercourt and saves it to his computer as "WHAT COMES NEXT". Nathan is at Clay and Quinn's beach house scrubbing the floors to get their dried blood out.

Memorable Quotes[]

"Dear Lucas, every time I write that sounds so strange. How did our lives drift so far apart? And how without even trying did we make our lives so complicated? I guess what I mean to say is, it all seemed so much easier when we faced the future together."
Haley James Scott letter to Lucas Scott
"She's better than that Calliope, and everyone in here needs their own bitch."
Victoria Davis
"Lets make it a dare."
"Okay. Loser plays next hole in their underwear."

"I have never been in love. I have never had that on special person. I think I know what love is and what it should be. At least, I know enough to know I have never felt it before"

Alex Dupré

"It's beautiful. But is this okay? I mean with everything going on this wouldn't be selfish?"
"No, and you know why? Because years from now when we look back on this moment we're not going to remember the trouble with your company or the bad press, or even your mom being in jail. We're just going to remember how great our wedding was."
"You think so?"
"I know so."
Brooke Davis and Julian Baker
"I've been avoiding it now for awhile, but my back is done. So, I'm going to finish this beer, then I'm going home and tell my wife that I'm done playing."
"Wow. That's huge. When did you decide that?"
"Just this second. Haley's pregnant. Clay and Quinn are recovering, and I didn't even know my own son like baseball."
Nathan Scott and Julian Baker
"You know some people are clearly just angels sent down to earth to take care of the rest of us. I am just lucky that one of those angels is my sister."
Quinn James
"At the end of the day, all you really own in this world is your integrity. Once you give that up, you can never buy it back."
Julian Baker
"I made it to the league you know. I had a dream, I lived it, and that is more than most people ever get. I just have this voice in my head that keeps saying walk away from the game while you can still walk away from the game. I just want to be healthy for you and Jamie and the baby so even if that means never playing again then..." "That's what I want. Because if there is one thing I've learned from all of this, then it's that money and things don't matter. Just us and our family." "I guess you better get used to having me around" "Are you going to be okay with this?" "I'll be fine. I'm ready for the rest of my life and happy that I get to spend it with you."
